Community Classes

These classes are reduced in cost to $5 in order to make yoga more affordable. The quality of the class and training of the teachers is the same high quality and skill level as of our other classes.

Foundations of Yoga

This class is essential for beginners. A slow paced class with detailed alignment instruction and demonstration. Meditation and breathing are taught in each session. More advanced students can use Foundations to deepen their practice.

Mixed Levels Yoga

A medium paced class with detailed alignment instruction & demonstration. Mindful yoga that builds flexibility, intelligence, and strength while helping students to deepen their relationship with their ongoing yoga practice and their authentic self.

Foundations of Forrest Yoga

Foundations of Forrest is designed both to prepare practitioners for a mixed-levels Forrest yoga class as well as assist those healing from injuries and chronic pain. The slower-paced class is mindfully and thoughtfully designed to relieve tension in the neck and shoulders, build core strength to reduce back pain, and generate a sense of calm and rejuvenation. Careful attention is paid in each posture to give both new and seasoned students awareness and knowledge of alignment, breath, and how to work with tension and injuries. Though this class is structured for beginners, all levels are encouraged and welcome!

Slow Flow

Slow Flow is a more deliberate form of vinyasa style yoga which links breath with movement and alignment, at a slower pace, balancing challenging postures with quiet calm. Slow Flow is suitable for all levels

Forrest Yoga

Forrest Yoga is a core and breath-focused practice that works to integrate strength and fluidity into each movement. Starting off slow with pranayama practices and then building up mindfully, the practice encourages each person to experience each breath fully and find the freedom in standing in their own strength. This practice is great for those with injuries and general discomfort or pain, as alignment and safe sequencing is a primary focus. Noting that habits on the mat also show up as habits in life, Forrest Yoga encourages everyone to look closely at themselves with compassion and work in ways on the mat that can begin to change those habits. All bodies and all levels welcome. 

*Room temperature is 75- 80 degrees.

Recovery Yoga

Gather with us in community to share a themed yoga practice, then discuss how this month’s theme intersects with our lives in recovery. Recovery, for our purposes here, means living in a way that helps keep us from falling into old habits we'd rather leave behind. All abilities/experience levels, and all recoveries welcome.   

*This class will be meeting monthly beginning March 11 from 3:00- 4:30 pm


Restorative Yoga

Yin Yoga

This restorative practice will begin with meditation and then utilize props to release into poses. The class will include hands on assists to increase relaxation. This 75 minute gentle and supportive class will ease your mind and body. 

Monday 7:30-8:45pm

Yin yoga postures are low to the ground and are passively held for several minutes in order positively effect the deep layers of connective tissues in the body. Physical benefits of yin yoga include restoring and maintaining mobility to the joints, primarily between the naval and the knees. Energetically, Yin yoga  opens the body’s meridian system, this allows body’s energetic flow and supports emotional equilibrium.  It allows you to tune in to the feedback provided by the body and choose a shape that best supports you; knowing that every body, every emotional state, and every mind is not the same. This practice emphasizes stillness and silence; preparing the body and mind for deeper experiences in meditation. Yin yoga, often referred to as “the other half of yoga”, is a complementary practice to more dynamic styles of yoga.

Flow Within

Embark on a meditative exploration of self as we move and breathe together. We focus on the ever-deepening process of listening to our bodies to determine what they need, how they want to move, and  what best serves each of us. Cultivating holistic body awareness, we probe the boundaries of our comfort                                                                                                                                                                               zones and seek to gently expand them. Modifications and energetic hands-on assists are conscientiously                                                                                                                     offered.

Kundalini Flow

 Kundalini  allows you to go inside and explore the art of breathing and relaxation . Flow as smooth as the   waves in the ocean. This class combines kriyas (physical movements), meditation, sound healing,         essential oils, optional hands on assists and self massage to release the stress from the week and support                                                                                                                                                                                 you in enjoying  your weekend ahead.

Work Study

Community members volunteer 6 hours a week doing anything from cleaning, folding blankets, watering plants to signing in students.

In exchange for 6 volunteer hours per week, work study students enjoy free unlimited classes, discounts on specific workshops and trainings and opportunities to lead and inspire a growing yoga community. We ask for a minimum commitment of three months.
