Where paths meet
4 Corners Yoga Wellness began in 2017 at Four Corners in Dorchester, an intersection where people arrive from different places, carrying different histories, while moving toward different futures. That is still who we are: a meeting place where bodies, minds, lived experiences and communities come together, and where personal healing and collective transformation intersect.
We believe a whole life cannot be understood from a single vantage point. Just as four corners define a shared space, our inner lives, our bodies, our relationships and our social realities are distinct yet inseparable. Together they shape how we suffer, how we heal and how we tend to ourselves and find our way toward restoration.
At the center is human dignity: wellness is a birthright, healing is not always linear, rest is necessary, and our individual well-being is tied to the conditions our communities live in. The corners can change shape as our work grows; the center holds steady.
One philosophy, many entry points
The mat is where practice begins, but it is not where the practice ends. Its four corners give us a defined space to find our footing, meet discomfort and regain balance. We then carry those lessons into our relationships, our communities and our response to injustice. Each offering is a different path to the same center:
Yoga, mindfulness and meditation cultivate embodied awareness and inner stillness.
Unveiling the Shroud looks at what is often hidden: mortality, grief, transition and the care of life's endings.
Rest Is Resistance reclaims rest from the demand that our worth be proven through constant productivity.
Candid Conversations makes room for truth-telling, reflection and perspectives beyond our own.
The unity is not in the format of these offerings. It is in the values that animate them: compassion, dignity, awareness, justice, restoration and connection.
Our commitment
Wellness must be spacious enough to hold the whole human experience: joy and grief, rest and resistance, personal wounds and systemic harms, life and death. No one has to be whole before they are welcomed into a space for healing. We tend to individual wounds and honestly examine the conditions that produce them, honoring both without confusing the two.
Every dimension of life belongs. Every person deserves the conditions to heal. And wellness must extend from the individual to the community and the world we share.
4 Corners Yoga Wellness is a place where the many dimensions of being human can meet—where inner awareness meets social consciousness, where rest meets resistance, where wounds meet the possibility of healing, and where the realities of life and death are held within a larger commitment to dignity, connection, and restoration.
